Hope Initiative Ministries - Uganda

Setting children free from all forms of bondage in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ

Hope Initiative Ministries (H.I.M.) is a registered
non government, non profit organization in Uganda.
Our mission is one of Child Mentoring, Sponsorship and Community Empowerment.  We are a locally staffed and internationally supported organisation located in the capital city of Kampala and also in Bugiri.
Poverty brings despair and vulnerability. We seek to bring hope and security through the love of Christ in a personal mentoring programme that goes beyond providing for educational and health needs. Our vision is for transformed children who may become Christ's change agents for the transformation of nations.

THE LIFE OF A CHILD IN UGANDA

The United Nation’s Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), reported that 23.1 million of Uganda's 34.5 million people, are prone to poverty, and about 8.4 million of them (about 24.5%) are trapped in absolute poverty.

Poverty prevents access to proper education and health care which has a negative flow on effect that impacts especially on children

The picture is gloomy and one might wonder if there is really anything that can be done.  However, missions like Hope Initiative Ministries is seeing lives changed for the good, children set free from many different forms of bondage.

A wall keeps those inside safe and it keeps those unsafe outside.  Please consider supporting this fundraiser for the Hope Initiative Ministries Primary School at Bugiri.

552 Registered Children Looking for Sponsors

Through Freedom Centres, H.I.M. are mentoring children and young people (aged 6 to 25) through different regular weekend and holiday activities.   Freedom Centres are also the business hub out of which community projects are operated.  See below for the overall Vision, Mission and Strategy we have put in place to achieve this.   Find out more.  Visit our Freedom Centre page.
The choir who feature in the above video came out of Freedom Centre ministry.  Freedom Centers' primary charter is to African communities as a non-sectarian, non-denomination and above all non-partisan body.  We are deliberate in reaching out to the whole community but especially the poor and most vulnerable, to holistically equip them for life: social, spiritual and economic.
Freedom Centres  are the HUB of our mission. They began in the Bugiri district operating out of the Ndeeba Baptist Church with a centre now in the capital, Kampala.   More Freedom Centres are planned.
